Taking the Stress Out of a Home Remodel

Posted on: March 31, 2015

Remodeling projects can be overwhelming and stressful to many homeowners. We’ve seen all different types of renovations since we opened our doors in 1963, and our experiences have taught us a thing or two we think may help take the stress out of your project. Follow the tips below, and focus on all that your newly remodeled space will bring you and your family!

Our Tips for an Easier Home Remodel

To make the process as stress-free as possible, we’ve found the following advice to be extremely beneficial:

Do your planning! We can’t stress the importance of this enough. Make sure you do your research and plan ahead to ensure the success of your project. Look into several contractors in your area to find the right one, taking into account testimonials, referrals (usually given upon request), certifications, and previous experience. A reliable contractor is critical to completing your project on time, on budget, and according to your stylistic and functionality preferences.

Expect the unexpected. In home remodeling, it’s important to have a certain degree of flexibility. Issues with pipes or HVAC that weren’t initially accounted for may add some time to your project line or cause you to have to switch some things around. An experienced remodeler can help you find the best, most cost-effective solution to any problem that may arise, but it’s important to be prepared for the unexpected when it comes to a major remodeling project.

Adjust your living arrangements to accommodate your daily needs during the remodel. If you’re renovating your kitchen or master bath, you will need to make some changes. A professional remodeler will do their best to accommodate you and to efficiently complete your project—but a quality renovation isn’t instant. There will most likely be times where adjustments will need to be made, such as moving your microwave or refrigerator to an accessible location, and realize that you may not be able to use your stove or major components of your kitchen (or another room) in general during this time.

Customer Testimonials See What People Are Saying

“Although we have given this project a rating of 10 in all areas, we would like to give our thanks and appreciation to our designer Joel and installer Andrew (and crew) for the excellent job they did in remodeling our bath.  It was truly a pleasure working with them from beginning to end."
