What Colors Go Best with a Country Kitchen?

Posted on: June 12, 2017

Country kitchens never went out of style at all, but they’ve certainly seen a huge resurgence in recent years. The warmth and rustic appeal of a country kitchen is just hard to match, and when you’re talking blending function with aesthetic nothing else captures the essence quite as well.

Planning a country kitchen remodel in Delaware but not quite sure what you want to do regarding color? You’ve come to the right place! Follow along and let the design experts at Bath, Kitchen and Tile Center help you make the right choice!

Choosing Your Best Country Kitchen Colors

The good news is that the rich tones and neutral appliances that are common to a country kitchen give you a ton of leeway. It is important to keep in mind complementing, since you’re likely to have a serving/dining area in your country-style kitchen, and this is something you’ll want to take note of in planning your colors. For example if your dining table is cherry wood, you may want to steer clear of colors in the red scheme.

Having said that, colors are mostly subjective, and what you want is much more important than satisfying some kind of fad. But if you’re in the market for ideas, or just wanting to know where to start, you can’t go wrong with these:

  • Whites. All-white kitchens are a great way to blank-slate your colors and allow for more customization and play with your appliances and countertops. They’re nice for that traditional, idyllic form of kitchen, and off-whites are a nice way to compliment space without cluttering it. Think creamy and soft rather than stark and washed-out.
  • Beige. Earthy tones are excellent for adding a neutral but eye-catching color to your space. Coffee, almond, wheat, and similar shades are awesome for kitchen spaces and add a lot of character without killing your other design plans.
  • Blues. Blue calls back to those traditional country kitchens seen in many homes a few decades back. But that doesn’t mean the color is overused or outdated. Light, powdery blues like robin egg are ideal, as more vivid colors leaning toward turquoise can get gaudy quickly, and darker blues often leave kitchens feeling claustrophobic.
  • Yellows. You’ll see accents of yellow often paired with mostly blue country kitchen schemes. And this certainly works very well indeed, but it’s not the required option! Yellow can stand excellently all on its own, especially with sunflower and chiffon.

“Although we have given this project a rating of 10 in all areas, we would like to give our thanks and appreciation to our designer Joel and installer Andrew (and crew) for the excellent job they did in remodeling our bath.  It was truly a pleasure working with them from beginning to end."
