Certified Kitchen Designers & Bathroom Designers
The CKD and CBD designations are the most well-known and prestigious in our industry. Designers seeking this designation—sponsored and awarded by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA)—must go through a rigorous training and testing procedure. An applicant must first have seven years of industry experience, including three years of employment as a full-time residential kitchen and/or bathroom designer. They must attend 60 credit hours of NKBA professional development courses and/or NKBA approved college coursework. They also must provide two client references and two professional affidavits, as well as complete an all-day CKD and/or CBD exam. This exam covers every aspect of residential kitchen and/or bathroom planning and design. Bath, Kitchen and Tile Center designers hold five of these designations.
Certified Interior Designers
Certified Interior Designers are trained in all aspects of residential and commercial design. They have attended and graduated with associate or bachelor’s degrees from accredited area colleges, such as the Philadelphia Institute of Design. Whether planning and designing your kitchen or helping you pick out the perfect paint for your project, interior designers are experts in their field. Bath, Kitchen and Tile Center currently employs two Certified Interior Designers.
Certified Graduate Remodelers
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is the largest and most influential trade organization in the building and remodeling industry. The Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation indicates that a remodeler has completed the requirements of the professional designation program. They have a minimum of five years of experience in the remodeling industry. They have completed a Professional Remodeler Experience Profile Exam. They have also completed coursework required by the exam, with courses ranging from business management, estimating and project management to construction contracts and law.
Certified Graduate Remodelers adhere to and submit a signed copy of the CGR code of ethics, promising to conduct daily operations based on principles of integrity, conduct, value, consumer protection, financial obligations, contract compliance, communication, regulatory compliance and non-litigated dispute and conflict resolution. This professional designation helps you, the consumer, ensure that you are hiring a designer and contractor you can count on to do a professional job. Bath, Kitchen and Tile Center employs one Certified Graduate Remodeler.
