When Guy and Nancy Phillips contacted us for their kitchen remodel in Georgetown, DE, they had already remodeled most of their house. They live on a working farm, and renovations were necessary to update the house. Since the kitchen was the last of the public spaces that needed a change, we took our design cues from both the furniture in the adjacent living room and our clients’ down-to-earth lifestyle. Nancy also had a list of items that she wanted to include in the kitchen to maximize efficiency. So we changed the footprint of the kitchen to open the space and still leave room for the grandkids to sit in the kitchen while Nancy bakes or cooks for the family.
