This Mountain House kitchen remodel by Emily Henderson features a rustic-modern aesthetic reminiscent of contemporary Scandinavian minimalism. Reclaimed wood flooring and cabinetry take center stage in this beautiful kitchen makeover. Read Emily’s story for a reminder that a kitchen remodel journey often takes a few unexpected twists and turns.
We love this country kitchen remodel, which Garrett and Cathy tackled to make their kitchen fit the design aesthetic of their early 1910s farmhouse in Ellensburg, Washington. The couple replaced a kitchen island, refinished cabinets, added charming brass hardware, and upgraded the lighting and paint to brighten the room.
What’s not to love about restoring an old bungalow?! This bungalow renovation in Takoma Park, Maryland featured a complete transformation of the kitchen, which included moving a chimney, upgrading the appliances, replacing a cast iron sink, new modern lighting, and sprucing up cabinet hardware by adding brass cabinet pulls. The clean and classic finished look preserves the heritage of the bungalow while refreshing the space for a more contemporary feel.
Pre-renovation, this kitchen had a pitted granite countertop, a monolithic black kitchen island, and a cluttered-looking tile backsplash. Fast forward and the homeowners have upgraded with a new Cambria quartz countertop, a brass and matte black faucet, a simple black cabinet wet bar, quartz floating shelves, and a vintage door. We love it!
Remodeling your parent’s kitchen sounds like a tricky bit of family diplomacy to navigate, but Michaela pulled off a stunning transformation. Gone are the dated oak cabinets, wood paneling above the garden window, and tired light fixtures. In their place are clean white resurfaced cabinets, a fresh tile backsplash, recessed lighting and a captivating light fixture above the sink. Nice work, Michaela!
